William R. "Bill" Ewald

William R. (Bill) Ewald Hemlock, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at the age of 68 years. The son of the late William and Virginia Ewald was born September 20, 1947 in Saginaw, Michigan and moved to Hemlock in 1956. Bill graduated from Hemlock High School, Class of 1965. Bill was employed in auto body repair from 1961 to 1984 then he continued his career in the automotive field. His father owned Bill's Body Shop, west of Hemlock on Gratiot Rd. Bill married Diane Clapp of Merrill on September 27, 1969. She survives him. He was an avid golfer, bowler and fisherman. Surviving besides his wife, Diane, are three sons and their wives, Jason and Sue Ewald, Saginaw, MI; Brian and MaryLynn Ewald, Hemlock, MI; Chad Ewald, Grand Rapids, MI; six grandchildren, Ashley, Courtney, Alyssa, D.J, Grayson and Easton; one brother and one sister, Tom and Vicki Ewald; Kay Martin; several nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Tammy Ewald. In accordance with Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place 7:00 p.m. Thursday June 16, 2016 at the W.L. Case and company funeral chapel 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Bill Bodnar will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday.
