William Richard Mead Sr.

Beloved father and grandfather passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Covenant Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Age 80 years. Bill was born on October 15, 1940 to the late David and Ida (Yokuty) Mead in Saginaw. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School, class of 1958. Bill married Frances Ott on May 11, 1968 in Saginaw. The two spent 45 years together before Fran passed away in October of 2014.

As a child, Bill enjoyed spending time at his family’s blueberry farm, Mead’s Blueberry Farm and was a member of Future Farmers of America. Bill was employed in quality control at General Motors Automotive, he retired in 1996 after 38.5 years of service. He was an avid bowler, part of the Saginaw USBC Board, and a youth bowling coach. Bill enjoyed hunting, gardening flowers and going to garage sales and flea markets. He was also the proud owner of Mead Sales and Services formally on Swan Creek Rd. He will be missed dearly by his beloved family.

Bill is survived by his son, William Richard (Tracey) Mead Jr; granddaughters Kiersten and Lindsey Mead and a sister Ida Mead- McLeod.

He was predeceased by his brother David Lee Mead.
