William Stephen Yurcso, Sr. of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Wednesday, April 22, 2020. He was 77 years old. William Stephen Yurcso was born on January 6, 1943, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Samuel and Lorane (Ryan) Yurcso. He was a proud graduate of Saginaw High School. Following graduation, William began working for the family business, Yurcso Builders and he honorably served his country by enlisting in the Army National Guard. He married Gail Marie Anderson on January 31, 1970. William later began his career as a skilled tradesman at Grey Iron – General Motors; retiring after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and building things from the small and intricate to remodeling homes his talent led him to many great projects. Above all, William loved and cherished his children and grandchildren. He will forever be remembered for his kindness and his love and devotion to his family.
Surviving are three daughters and a son: Laura (Rod Sauseda) Yurcso of Jacksonville, Florida; William (Toni) Yurcso, Jr. of Freeland; Renee (Eric) Placer of Traverse City; Stephanie Yurcso of Saginaw; nine grandchildren: Austin Wendling, Autumn Sauseda, Rodney Sauseda, Justin Wendling, Nathaniel Sturis, Katlynn Sturis, Brody Yurcso, Patyn Yurcso, and Anthony Sturis; one great-grandson, London Chase Christian; sister, Kathy (Jerry) Schieb of Saginaw. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death on a brother, Samuel (Joyce) Yurcso; former spouse, Gail Marie Anderson.
A private family service will take place on Friday, April 24, 2020, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate. Entombment will take place on Monday at Oakwood Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Cancer Society.
