William Stimson “Will” Boyd of Hazel Park, Michigan, formerly of Northborough, MA, and Shaker Heights, CT.
Beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at his home in Hazel Park, Michigan. He was 40 years old. William Stimson Boyd was born on May 14, 1980 in Cleveland, Ohio to George Morley and Connie Rae (Reeve) Boyd. He was a 1998 graduate of Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough, Massachusetts. Following graduation, Will attended the University of Utah receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 2002. He then faithfully served a two year mission in Slovenia for The Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints. Upon his return, Will attended Roger Williams University School of Law and graduated with his Juris Doctorate in 2009. After Law School, he proudly served his country by enlisting with The United States Army JAG Corps. Reserve. and served active duty at Fort Campbell, KY. He worked as a document review attorney throughout the Detroit Metro Area. Will was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints, an Eagle Scout, and a member of the Bar Association for Michigan, Utah, and Connecticut. In his spare time, enjoyed running, fine arts, and music. Will will forever be remembered for his intellect, kindness, and his selflessness to all he loved.
Surviving are his mother, Connie Ray (Reeve) Boyd of Traverse City; four brothers and one sister: Patrick Reeve Boyd of Traverse City, MI, and Sundance, UT; Amanda Morley Yin of Traverse City; George Bradford (Lisa) Boyd of Palos Verdes Estates, CA; Walter Morley (Rachel) Boyd II of McKinney, TX; Hal Robert (Holly) Boyd of Provo, UT; 13 nieces and nephews with one on the way; four aunts: Patricia Miller of Saginaw; Dinah (Nick) Holland of Ann Arbor; Jennifer (Chuck) Wright of Grosse Pointe Wood; Geri Reeve of Saginaw.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Morley Boyd; grandparents: Walter Morley and Betty Stimson Boyd, and Hal Bott and Connie Buist Reeve; uncle, John William Reeve.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at Oakwood Mausoleum, 5950 Gratiot Road. Patrick Reeve Boyd will officiate with presiding authority from Bishop John Lowry. Family and friends are welcome to visit at the mausoleum from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will follow at Oakwood Mausoleum. Due to restrictions set forth by the State of Michigan and the worldwide health pandemic, all visitors are required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
