Winnford Kochan

Winnford Kochan Spaulding Township, Michigan Passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016, at his home. Age 89 years. The son of the late Rose (Mazur) and Wasyl Kochan was born March 25, 1927 in Spaulding Township. He married Joyce M. Hoebbel, February 4, 1956. His wife of 60 years survives him. He graduated from Arthur Hill Trade School and served with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Bridgeport. Winnford farmed the family farm all of his life and was also a mechanic and served as Manager of Burke Equipment, retiring with over 30 years of service. He loved the out-of-doors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving besides his wife, Joyce, are two sons, one daughter, Jeffrey Kochan; Linda Williams and her husband Douglas; Bradley Kochan; three grandchildren and their spouses, Leah and Scott Grigonis; Sarah and Keenan Albers; Lynsay and Skeeter Weber; four great grandchildren, Chloe, Sophia, Ariel and Theo Grigonis; a sister and a brother, Julia Krowl; Ted Kochan; several nieces and nephews. Three brothers and two sisters have predeceased him. In accordance with Mr. Kochan's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Noon Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Faith Lutheran Church, 4241 Williamson Rd. Bridgeport, MI. Rev. William W. Hessler will officiate. Friends may call at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service.
