Yiota Sarantis Saginaw, Michigan Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away Monday, April 30, 2018. Age 85 years. The daughter of the late William and Asimo (Mitsakis) Milionis was born February 27, 1933 in Potedania, Doridos, Greece coming to the U.S.A. in 1948. She was a graduate of Lansing Sexton High School. She married Alex Sarantis, July 28, 1957. He passed away October 9, 2003. Mr. and Mrs. Sarantis owned and operated various restaurants in the Tri-City area. Yiota was a women of great faith and an active member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church where she sang in the choir and was involved with the Philoptochos. She was a great caregiver and support for her family and loved her children and grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters, one son and their spouses, Meg and Matt Rodriguez; Bill and Linda Sarantis; Constance and Steve Lemere; her grandchildren and their spouses, Alexander Sarantis; Courtney and Kurtis Fournier; Autumn and Eric Delestowicz; Sarah Sarantis and Brett Mulvaney; Alyssa Lemere; five great grandchildren; a brother, a sister and a sister-in-law, Dr. John and Mary Milionis; Chrisa Sellas; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2018 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 4970 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw. Fr. Timothy Cook will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from noon until time of the funeral service.
